According to Sebastian Bach, his new song ‘(Hold On) To The Dream’ from his latest album, ‘Child Within the Man’ is the heaviest one yet.
“The song ‘(Hold On) To The Dream’ is metal to the core. The verses are the heaviest music I’ve ever recorded, including Skid Row,” the singer told Rock Cellar Magazine. “I’m not even going to dance around it. You can listen to Skid Row all you want. You put on ‘(Hold On) To The Dream’ and get ready for the next level of that sh*t. And that’s for real.”
He added, “And anyone can hear it. And the chorus is yacht rock. I don’t know how I did that. Also, we can’t forget that the mastering engineer of this album is Robert Ludwig, who mastered Steely Dan. So everything came together for this album, ‘Child Within the Man,’ and I could not be more proud of it.”
‘Child Within the Man’ was released on May 10. He announced it in March along with ‘Everybody Bleeds,’ the album’s second single. This 11-track album is Bach’s first full-length release since 2014’s ‘Give ‘Em Hell.’ It includes a mix of rock songs and ballads, featuring guitarists like John 5, Steve Stevens, and Orianthi.
“I have been putting out records since the year 1989. Thank you for 35 years of Bach ‘n’ Roll, all leading up to ‘Child Within the Man!’ If you like the records I have put out in the past, I can guarantee that you will enjoy the new album,” Bach said of the record in a statement.
The rocker continued, “This is the kind of rock ‘n’ roll that keeps you young! Can’t wait for you all to crank up ‘Child Within the Man’ — a magical elixir to the fountain of Youth! Gone Wild! Forever! It’s all one big song! Turn it up!”
John 5, Stevens, and Orianthi not only play on the album but also co-wrote their songs. Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge also helped write some tracks. Bach is currently touring Canada to promote the album.
