In a recent chat on the Appetite For Distortion podcast, Skid Row guitarist Scotti Hill talked about looking for a new singer after Erik Grönwall left the band.
“We are looking at some people. We’ve got a nice list of people that we’re gonna sit down with,” Hill explained. “And we’re continuing to look. But it’s not like Smashing Pumpkins and we’re just inviting the whole world in to throw their tapes on our desk. That’s a little over the top.”
Hill also touched on the fan requests for a reunion with Sebastian Bach and shut the rumors down. “Well, they’re never gonna stop asking [about a reunion],” he said. “But for me, and I think I can speak for the other guys, it’s just a simple quality-of-life issue. People are, like, ‘Just put your differences aside and do it.’ Well, I don’t wanna do it. There are no differences. I don’t wanna do it. I don’t wanna be in the room with somebody that I don’t like.”
Although the current members made it clear several times that they wouldn’t reunite with Bach, the former frontman keeps sending them subtle messages. In a more recent attempt, the rocker took to Instagram to compare his possible reunion with Skid Row to Oasis’ recent reunion. He posted a picture of Liam and Noel Gallagher with the caption “The reunion we got…” The same post also had a photo of the former Skid Row members with the caption “The reunion we wanted.”
In addition to all that, Hill isn’t the only members who doesn’t think a reunion with Bach is possible. “It’s not gonna happen,” Dave ‘Snake’ Sabo said in another interview. “And I say the same thing every time. I’m thankful that people have such an interest in wanting to see that happen, but I also have to reiterate that this is about being happy in the situation that you’re in. So I’ll speak for myself personally.”
It’s possible that we might hear a new name as a singer from the band, but it’s certain that it’s not going to be Bach.
