Creed reunited and kicked off their first tour since 2012 last year. The band’s successful return in ’Summer of ’99’ and ’Summer of ’99 and Beyond’ cruises led to an additional fall leg announced in February.
Scott Stapp shared his surprise at the amount of positive reaction to their comeback in a recent chat on ’The Bobby Bones Show.’ “I had no expectations of it ever coming back as big as it has,” the singer said. “I mean, the last tour was sold out. We were doing 20-plus thousand a night. It was crazy. And I was grateful. There were moments, man, where my eyes were just watering with gratitude…”
He added, “Just because I know what it’s like to have it, and I know what it’s like to not. And so there’s a much greater appreciation and respect for everything and everyone around me. It takes a village.”
Following their reunion shows, the band’s ’Greatest Hits’ collection re-entered charts, including the Billboard Top 200 and Top Hard Rock & Alternative Albums. Months later, guitarist Mark Tremonti shared that they had ’thousands’ of ideas for a new Creed record.
He told Michael Christopher of Vanyaland, “I hoarded my ideas since I was, gosh, since I bought my first little handheld tape recorder — the little micro cassettes — saved my ideas since I was maybe in junior high school, high school.”
Creed is getting ready to embark on the ’Are You Ready?’ tour on November 2. They will be touring the U.S. alongside 3 Doors Down and Mammoth WVH.
