During a new appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Scorpions’ Rudolf Schenker said he is willing to reconcile with his brother, Michael.
The guitarist told the following about his younger brother:
“I love him. He’s a great person. I watched him since he was a baby, and I love him, and I brought him in into all the bands he had in the earlier times and to care that he’s not going downhill. It’s up to him. He’s a very extreme person. He can’t be in a band. He’s not a band person. He is an extreme, great guitar player. And that’s a different situation.”
Rudolf also replied to a question asking if he is in touch with Michael right now:
“[At] the moment, no. From my side, I would talk [to him] immediately [Laughs]. I even can’t be bad with him because I know what the situation is, where he talks from.”
Michael Thinks Rudolf Is A ‘Bully’
In recent years, Michael criticized Rudolf in several interviews. In one of them, he said:
“Rudolf, my brother, is a bully, and I don’t trust him. I don’t hang out or don’t make contact with bullies, neither [are] good. I don’t think you like to. I don’t any normal person would, you know, it’s just [that] I don’t feel – I don’t feel comfortable. Just simply, I don’t trust him. That’s it. You know, if I would make contact with him, he would carry on exactly where he stopped last, you know, it’s just bad.”
Rudolf Still Loves His Brother
Rudolf responded to his brother’s words in a later interview:
“I tell you one thing: I love my brother. He can say whatever he wants to say. He’s an amazing guitar player, an amazing person – whatever he wants to say, why not say it? [laughs] If that is what makes him happy, then okay. I wish him all the best. I think, sooner or later, we will all be friends again, and we will play together again. My life is too happy to put myself into a dustbin over it. I want to live in the sky. I am so happy for my life.”
Michael discussed his time with the Scorpions and his issues with his brother Rudolf in an interview with ‘The Flying V’ documentary last year. He claimed he didn’t get credit for his work on albums like ‘Lonesome Crow’ and ‘Lovedrive.’ Michael accused the Scorpions of borrowing from his compositions and UFO’s style. Michael also criticized Rudolf for taking whatever he liked and using it himself.
