The ongoing Sammy Hagar and Alex Van Halen feud seems to have come to an end.
Hagar recently shared rare footage from a 1995 show on X. He captioned it, “Some nights there was so many things shown on stage. I’m sure people seeing this I thinking, ‘What the hell is this guy wearing?!’ You throw it up I’ll wear it! Ha ha! Can you believe how precise and clean this band sounded in 95? Wow. Al’s neck, brace and all.”
“Need something to rock through the weekend? May we suggest ‘Top Of The World’ from Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI from back in July of 1995,” he added.
The feud between Alex Van Halen and Sammy Hagar has been going on for a long time, and they’ve recently taken shots at each other.
Alex said that the band didn’t represent Van Halen well during Hagar’s ‘Best of All Worlds’ Tour. Fans didn’t take well to Alex’s comments. Some said he should have been more involved if he had concerns, while others pointed out that Hagar did a lot for the band and was a talented performer.
Later, in an interview with The Guardian, Van Halen lost its spirit when David Lee Roth left, even though the band had success with Sammy as the new singer. He mentioned ending his new book, ‘Brothers,’ in 1985 because of that. Hagar later wrote a book with negative comments about his time in the band.
Hagar then posted a throwback video on social media to call out Alex. In the video, Alex talks about Sammy joining Van Halen and says Sammy was able to complement Eddie Van Halen on both vocals and guitar, which helped the band try new musical directions, including some keyboard work.
The singer later revealed that he tried to reach out to the drummer to join his band, but got rejected.
Now with the recently posted video, it seems like this might all come to an end.
