Sammy Hagar is not happy about expensive ticket prices but he doesn’t always get a say in them.
The Red Rocker shared an old clip from a Van Halen show for Alex Van Halen’s birthday and wrote in the caption:
“Alex had a birthday on Wednesday and I was digging through some archives looking for something to post. I went so far down that rabbit hole. I’m still deep down in there. so many great memories from one of the greatest rock bands ever! I am so looking forward to this summer, Best of All Worlds Tour digging deep into our unbelievable catalog of music and serving it up to the best of our abilities!”
Fans Complain About Ticket Prices
A fan of the singer left a comment under his post, writing:
“I love me some Sammy but Tampa prices were insane for some reason! I am thankful I got to enjoy you and Loverboy before greedy Ticketmaster, etc hiked the ticket prices out of control!”
Hagar replied to the user, explaining the reason behind the high ticket prices:
“Lisa, that bums me out going in I made sure there were some inexpensive tickets and prices were certainly reasonable. I always make sure of that. Problem is sometimes the show sells really fast scalpers and ticket agencies grab all the good seats and check them up. The bands never get to participate in that money, and I’m sorry it works that way unfortunately there’s nothing I can do if I want to go out and play which I do hopefully you have another shot at it. I think this week is a $25 ticket week for all shows. Check it out.”
Bruce Dickinson Is Also Not Happy With Tickets
It is not just the fans who are dissatisfied with the ticket prices. Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson also finds them expensive. He told in a conversation with Mexico’s ATMósferas Magazine:
“I’m not gonna go around and say specific artists because most of the artists that are charging, like, 1,200 dollars a ticket — like in Las Vegas, if you wanna go and see the U2 show, I think it was 1,200 dollars per seat in the sphere. I’ve got no interest in paying 1,200 dollars to go and see U2 in the sphere — none. A hundred bucks, maybe. But for me, what’s important is to try and keep, on the one hand, the right type of tickets at the right price.”
Hagar’s The Best of All Worlds Tour with Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Jason Bonham starts on July 13, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Its last show is currently scheduled for August 31 in St. Louis, Missouri at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.
