Gwen Stefani’s return to ‘The Voice’ deal dashed hopes of a No Doubt reunion.
The singer will be on the coaching panel for season 26 of ‘The Voice2 alongside Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg. She has coached on the show for seven seasons in total, with her last appearance in season 24.
No Doubt fans hoping for the band’s first tour in 12 years might be disappointed. According to an unnamed source in the U.S. Sun, plans for the tour fell through. The Sun reported that Stefani, 54 will earn $13 million for season 26 of ‘The Voice.’ They also said insiders revealed that No Doubt was planning a tour after their successful Coachella performance.
No Doubt’s Coachella Reunion
In January, Gwen confirmed she was reuniting with Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young from No Doubt for a new show. In a video on No Doubt’s official X account, she talked about the past in front of a framed picture:
“That one is the original artwork to ‘The Beacon Street Collection’ that No Doubt did. I actually did this actual collage myself! It’s so nostalgic. I remember cutting out each one of those photos. This is actually bringing back so many memories.”
Afterward, Stefani reached out to her bandmates. She texted Tony Kanal on her iPhone and started a video call with everyone. During their chat, the No Doubt members discussed meeting up and spending time together. Finally, Young proposed doing a new show, which the band’s singer agreed to:
“Let’s do a show!”
Stefani’s Excitement For The Reunion Gig
No Doubt reunited for a show in April 2024 at Coachella. It was the band’s first performance together since 2015. Stefani was excited before the show as she told during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!:
“It’s going to be amazing. I’m so excited and I think what is going to be hilarious is I know what’s going to happen. I’m going to get on stage and look around and just start cracking up. It’s just going to be like riding a bike. We’re going to be like, ‘What are we doing? We’re in the future right now.’”
The rocker had previously mentioned that a No Doubt reunion was unlikely. Despite being ‘open to anything,’ she clarified in an April interview with Nylon that the band didn’t have specific plans for touring or making new music. Stefani described the Coachella reunion as a conclusion to their journey.
