Robbie Williams appeared to restart his feud with Noel Gallagher at his American Express presents BST Hyde Park concert on Saturday night.
During his London show over the weekend, Robbie took a jab at Noel as he walked onto the stage. In videos shared by fans on social media, Robbie is seen passing by a small cardboard cutout of Noel and giving it a playful pat on the head. Robbie then playfully mocked Noel’s height with a grin before starting his performance on the Great Oak stage.
Though Noel hasn’t responded to Williams’ recent act, it might have sparked the 30-year feud the two parties have had.
The Origin Of The Feud
In July 1995, Robbie Williams left Take That to pursue a solo career. A year later, he was seen partying with Oasis members at Glastonbury Festival. While Robbie was friends with Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher sparked a feud by calling Williams ‘the fat dancer from Take That.’
In addition, Williams challenged Liam Gallagher to a televised boxing match with a £100,000 bet in 2000.
Williams Isn’t Bothered By The Feud
Over the years, Robbie and Noel Gallagher continued to take shots at each other during their live performances. However, Robbie Williams talked about his feud with Oasis in a 2022 interview. He said they used to be more open with their opinions back then, and he missed that era of controversy.
Williams mentioned that the comments made by him and the Gallagher brothers didn’t bother him personally. Instead, he found it annoying that those comments stuck around.
Liam’s Apology
Even though it didn’t seem to bother Williams, the singer called the duo ‘f*cking bullies’ at the time. Liam was once asked on Twitter about Robbie Williams’ comments about criticizing him for possibly being a bully. He said he never bullied anyone and that his comments about it were wrong:
“I agree with him on the vital thing, not on the bully thing. I’ve never bullied anyone in my life.”
Regardless, he went on to apologize:
“I’m a massive piss taker for sure and probably gone a little too far sometimes, but if I’ve ever hurt anyone’s feelings, I apologize.”
