In a recent chat with Cover Band Confidential, Rob Hammersmith didn’t mention Sebastian Bach while talking about their new singer plans.
After discussing Erik Grönwall’s recent exit from the band due to his health issues, the drummer reflected on the possibility of performing with guest vocalists, as they did recently with Lzzy Hale:
“[We have] no confirmed shows on the books as of this conversation. We are speaking with a few people that might potentially be able to do the special-guest slots, exactly what Lzzy had gone out and done with us. We’re hoping that that can come to fruition before the end of this year. And in the meantime, we are looking for a permanent person, a permanent singer. So at this point, I don’t have any concrete announcements that I can make. But yeah, that’s the plan at this point.”
What Did Rachel Bolan Say About Their Search For A New Vocalist?
Earlier this month, Skid Row bassist Rachel Bolan said at a convention in Indianapolis that the band is ‘taking their time’ to find a new singer:
“We’re always writing, throwing ideas at each other. Right now we’re in the middle of looking for a singer. I hear all you guys rolling your eyes already. Our [last] singer, Erik [Grönwall], left to prioritize his health, [which was] understandable. So right now we’re just taking our time, because we have time. And we’ve got a couple guys on the radar that we’re gonna audition. And there’s also a couple of our friends that wanna do what Lzzy Hale did and sit in [on lead vocals] for a few shows. And that’s fun too. That was so much fun doing those [four] shows [with Lzzy in late May and early June].”
Dave Sabo’s Words On A Possible Reunion With Bach
In many interviews, the band members are asked about reuniting with Bach. In a May interview with The Hook Rocks podcast, Dave ‘Snake’ Sabo said there wouldn’t be a reunion with their former singer:
“It’s not gonna happen. And I say the same thing every time. I’m thankful that people have such an interest in wanting to see that happen, but I also have to reiterate that this is about being happy in the situation that you’re in. So I’ll speak for myself personally.”
He continued:
“I do need to say something too, is that the reason that this isn’t happening is because there’s three of us — myself, Scotti [Hill, Skid Row guitarist] and Rachel — who’ve had conversations about this, and we’ve all been on the same page that we don’t wanna go down that road again. We just — we don’t.”
On the other hand, Bach keeps sending messages to Skid Row. In May, the rocker said believes a misunderstanding has kept them apart and wants to clear it up with the band. Bach feels confident about a reunion but needs to write a careful email to address the issue.
