During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Rikki Rockett shared contract details about Poison’s 40th anniversary tour.
“It’s not figured out. We have agreed to do a minimum of 40 dates and maybe more,” the drummer revealed. “So whatever it works out to be, but it’s for sure gonna be that many, at least. And I don’t know.”
He went on, “I mean, if there’s somebody that we can package with that makes sense, great. If there isn’t, then we’ll headline. Whatever makes sense. I don’t know who’s going out yet that year, in ’26, but if it makes sense to package with somebody, we’ll do it.”
“If it doesn’t, we’ll do it ourselves. It’s like Bret [Michaels, Poison frontman] said, if you can’t do it right, do it anyway. But we’ll be doing it right [Laughs],” the rocker also added.
Last September, Bret Michaels shared with the Arizona Republic about the band’s plans for a tour in 2026, “Yeah, that would be incredible. We’ve just got to work out all the moving parts. But all original members.”
The singer continued, “There’s so much planning goes behind that. When I’m out as Bret Michaels, it’s simpler because I’m making all the end decisions. When you’re in a band like Poison, it’s a committee. You go in there, and you figure it out together. You make sure everyone’s good. And hopefully, we can make that work in ’26.”
Earlier in September, Michaels announced on social media that he plans to do only a few shows in 2025. He wants to focus on his health, as he has diabetes and needs some rest. He said 2026 would be a great time for a Poison 40th-anniversary tour.
Bret’s statement came two days after Rockett said on social media that Michaels no longer wants to tour with Poison next year. On September 10, Rikki posted on Facebook that people keep asking why Poison isn’t touring in 2025. He said the answer is simple: Bret doesn’t want to tour.
Rockett later explained on Facebook that he never said Bret was canceling the 2025 tour; it just wasn’t scheduled. He wanted to clarify to avoid blame on himself or the other band members.
