According to Rick Beato, young musicians can look at Sleep Token if they want to be successful.
The musician recently had a live stream on his YouTube channel and gave the following advice to young names who want to make it in the music scene:
“You can do anything on social media. You just can. You have worldwide distribution here on YouTube, on Instagram, on TikTok, wherever you want. YouTube shorts, make them. You got a song, put it out there. Make a video about making your song. Talk about it. This is what people do. This is how you can do it.”
Then, Beato gave Sleep Token as a good example:
“A lot of people start, you have to do it differently than you used to but bands like Sleep Token, they made records and they found a way to be relevant. Sleep Token probably got five million monthly listeners on Spotify. It’s hard to do. It’s hard to do as a rock band nowadays. Very hard to do but it’s not impossible. It’s not impossible. Somebody’s got to be successful. It can be you. That’s the thing. That’s what this channel has taught me. That’s what I always believed.”
Justin Hawkins Also Thinks Sleep Token Is Important Today
The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins also admires Sleep Token as a new force in the rock scene. In January, he released a video on his YouTube channel and said the following about the band:
“I love Sleep Token. I love the anonymity of it. I love the way it’s challenging. There’re so many dynamics being explored in it. It’s really accomplished — not just harmonically rich, but dynamically rich as well. You don’t see that very often.”
Hawkins kept praising Sleep Token’s popularity with rock music fans:
“What’s really encouraging about it is that it’s being devoured by the masses. And when I say the masses, I mean people who actually care about guitar music. It warms the cockles to recognize that the average, everyday rock listener is prepared to get into something like that. That’s not easy stuff to do. That’s progressive in the best way.”
Sleep Token will start their European tour on November 9 in Nuremberg, Germany. After performing in different cities of Europe, they will head towards the UK for more gigs.
