Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora just admitted that he had ‘nothing to do’ with the band’s recent documentary.
In a recent interview with the Associated Press, the rocker shared his thoughts about ‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.’ He said:
“I had nothing to do with it really, except I work there but it wasn’t my perspective. It was one person’s perspective.”
Sambora then shared his own way of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band:
“To me, the celebration of 40 years would have been how the songs affected the whole world because we did a pretty good job after doing it. We worked very hard. And the songs really got to people and communicated all over the world.”
Sambora’s Perspective Is Different
The ex-Bon Jovi guitarist made his first public appearance on May 11 since the docuseries aired. The rocker headlined the 11th Annual Unbridled Eve Kentucky Derby Gala at The Galt House Hotel. After his performance, Sambora talked to People magazine about the series and said he felt like it leaned more towards Jon Bon Jovi’s story than his own.
Similarly, Sambora’s representative said a few words about the documentary. According to the rep, Sambora didn’t like how he was being cast, or how his departure from the band was portrayed.
