Paramount+ released a new three-part docuseries about the ‘80s hair metal scene on September 17. Titled ‘Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of ’80s Hair Metal,’ the show dove into stories from famous rockers like Great White’s Jack Russell, Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach, and Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne.
In one part, Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy shared how Osbourne decided to play a prank on other guests at a hotel they hung out after a gig (per Entertainment Weekly). “So, Ozzy had this crazy idea,” he recalled. “You know in nice hotels, you put your shoes out, have them shined. And ‘I’ll wear nice shoes in the morning.’”
“So, he goes hobbling down the hall. And he literally pulls his pants down and he takes a big sh*t in these shoes, right? He just had this laugh about it, like ‘Ha ha!’”
This wasn’t the only ‘crazy’ story from Osbourne’s six-decade career, though. He once threw a TV out of his window and ended up paying £40,000 in damages at another hotel he stayed with Zakk Wylde.
The singer’s performances were just as unusual as his hotel adventures. He bit off the head of what he thought was a fake bat in one concert in 1982 and also snorted live ants during a tour.
The new Paramount+ series covered more than Ozzy Osbourne’s memories. It featured other stories from the early hair metal era, including Jack Russell accidentally shooting a drug dealer’s cleaning lady during a failed robbery and Sebastian Bach attacking an airplane pilot mid-flight.
