Queens Of The Stone Age have announced their first shows since canceling their North American tour last month so frontman Josh Homme could recover from emergency surgery.
The End Is Nero tour was cut short in early July when eight festival shows were canceled as Homme returned home for the surgery. The band later pulled out of another seven European festival dates scheduled for August.
The new tour will kick off with two shows at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 10 and 11 next year, and will end with a performance at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago, Illinois. No replacements have been scheduled for the canceled shows in Bridgeport, Connecticut; Memphis, Tennessee; and Mexico City.
When they canceled the shows last month, the band shared a statement on social media platforms. “QOTSA regret to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care throughout the remainder of the year. Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025.”
In 2010, Homme had complications during surgery on his leg and needed to spend three months recovering in bed. In April 2023, he revealed that he had undergone another surgery after being diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer.
QOTSA has been touring in support of their 2023 album, ‘In Times New Roman…’
