Girl With No Job’s Claudia Oshry is “coming to terms” with gaining weight during her pregnancy.
“I’m going to end up the weight that I was when I started Ozempic,” she said in a video on Sunday, November 17, when announcing that she and husband Ben Soffer are expecting their first baby. (They got married in 2017.)
Oshry, 30, revealed that she has been “eating everything in sight,” specifying that her cravings are carb-focused. “Bagels all the time,” she said.
Oshry showed off her positive pregnancy test via Instagram on Sunday but prompted followers to subscribe to her Patreon for an extended video about becoming a mom.
“I already have such a f—ed up self-image with, like, Ozempic and the weight loss,” she explained in the video.
Oshry publicly revealed in August 2023 that she was “obviously” taking Ozempic.
“You thought they were going to make a weight loss drug and I wasn’t going to take it?” she said on “The Toast” podcast, released via Patreon at the time. “You’re dumb. Of course, I’m f—ing taking it.”
Oshry admitted she was “a little embarrassed” at first but eventually accepted using the drug. (Ozempic is intended for patients with type 2 diabetes but has become popular as a way to expedite weight loss.)
“Other people can do it without, why can’t I? In the beginning, my decision to not share was rooted a little bit in shame,” she said. “I’m not suggesting anyone do this. I’m not suggesting anyone do anything.”
She wanted to share her journey with listeners after becoming more “comfortable-ish” with taking Ozempic. At the time, Oshry also talked about stopping Ozempic injections when she and Soffer, 32, decided to have kids.
“One day, I will have children. I will not be able to do this,” she said. “It’s what’s working for me now. That’s the only reason I’ve been, kind of, hesitant to talk about it because I don’t want to be like, ‘I’ve figured it out. I’ve solved the problem for life.’ I have not.”
Oshry joked at the time that there was a day she would be “big and fat again” because her Ozempic use wasn’t permanent.
The podcast host further discussed her first trimester in Sunday’s vlog, revealing that she went to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour during the early days of her pregnancy but left after feeling “not OK” for the entirety of the concert.
“These days, I’m feeling much better. And I feel like now I can really get excited,” Oshry added “I’ve always been excited about the baby, but a little weary of the pregnancy. Now that I’m feeling a little bit more like myself, I feel like I can really enjoy being pregnant and everything that comes along with it.”
