Record producer Simon Napier-Bell shared an update about Phil Collins’ condition and future career plans after months of absence on Facebook. The producer recently visited the Genesis drummer at his home near Lake Geneva to film an interview for a documentary about London’s Marquee Club.
“He was in top form, full of wicked stories, hugely fun,” his post read. “And he’s just had his studio revamped. For sure, before too long we’re going to hear some new music.”
The two posed for a photo together, with Collins smiling and holding onto a cane that has helped his mobility for several years.

The drummer stayed out of the spotlight since the final Genesis show in March 2022. He was unable to drum on the tour due to dislocated vertebrae, nerve damage, and foot fractures.
So, some fans shared concerns about the drummer’s health despite Napier-Bell’s positive update. “Great news that he’s doing music. He looks frail still. What’s his illness? I have been out of the loop,” one person wrote.
Meanwhile, others pointed out that Collins looked better than he did in previous photos. “Thank you for sharing the photo,” someone else commented. “Phil is looking much better than previous photos that the press have published and it’s really good news he was able to share his stories. He’s an amazing artist and made so much great music through the years.”
The release date for the Marquee Club documentary hasn’t been officially announced yet. But it’s reported that Phil Collins will appear in it along with his Genesis bandmate, Tony Banks.
