Patrick Carney seems to be fed up with the Full Stop Management chairman Irving Azoff.
The Black Keys drummer took to X to send a sarcastic message to Azoff. This came right after the band parted ways with the management team. Carney replied to a 2018 tweet Azoff shared, which read:
“Free legal advice to artists from Irving. It’s not disparagement if it’s true.”
The drummer’s sarcastic response read:
“Thank you! This advice is very important for all musicians. So great you provided this for us all. It’s hard to speak up to the industry at times. So great to know you are always looking out for the artist.”
He seemed to confirm Azoff’s rumored mistreatment of the band by replying to one of Azoff’s old posts.
Why Did They Go Separate Ways?
The Black Keys parted ways with their management team following the cancellation of their entire North American arena tour.
Billboard mentioned that a representative for Azoff confirmed the breakup, and described it as ‘friendly.’
The Black Keys joined Full Stop Management in 2021 after parting ways with their previous manager, John Peets of Q Prime South. The band had announced the ‘International Players Tour’ in April, featuring 31 dates across the US and Canada later in the year, in support of their 12th album, ‘Ohio Players.’
Though the split was referred to as ‘friendly,’ the drummer confirmed that it wasn’t with his recent post. However, the actual reason behind the split still isn’t clear.
