In a recent chat with Nylon, Hayley Williams said she likes basic stage outfits.
When asked besides being comfortable, what else she considers a great stage outfit, the Paramore vocalist replied, giving Freddie Mercury as an example:
“I kind of just love simple concepts with stage looks. Like, just let me get out there and get to work — I have sh*t to do! And I am quite partial to a masc moment right now… a la Freddie Mercury’s look for Queen’s set at Live Aid.”
Hayley’s Previous Words On Her Stage Style
Previously, in a July 2023 interview with Vogue, Williams reflected on his touring style, saying:
“I’ve always loved Rodarte. When they do something that feels feminine, it feels playful, and there’s a uniqueness to it—it doesn’t take itself too seriously. That’s kind of where I’m at in my life: I’m having a lot of fun exploring and experimenting. I’m so excited to be in this era of my life where I’m really happier to embrace fashion. It’s so much more fun here.”
She further talked about her stage style:
“1960s Alfred Hitchcock-meets-Stanley Kubrick. I like a lot of leg. I’m a very short person, so trying to get my Tina Turner on every night, I need the hemline to be at my hip bones. I’ve also found that I feel happier when I’m wearing color. I don’t love wearing black as much as I thought.”
Paramore is currently on tour with Taylor Swift on the singer’s The Eras Tour as the opening act. In the European leg, they will perform in countries including Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and Germany.
