Pamela Anderson is looking glamorous ahead of the 2024 Met Gala — without any makeup!
During a pre-Gala event on Sunday, May 5, the Baywatch alum, 56, made an appearance in which she continued her long-running makeup-free streak. Anderson teamed a slinky, silver chain link party skirt with an oversize white boyfriend-style button-down shirt featuring an asymmetrical collar and extra large cuffs.
She kept her glam clean, with a bare-faced complexion and pop of pink gloss on her lips. Anderson wore her platinum blonde hair in an effortless, side-parted style.
Anderson has been candid in recent months about her desire to forego makeup at events like premieres, Paris Fashion Week, on camera, and more.
Speaking with PEOPLE in November 2023 about her choice to stay makeup-free, Anderson said she “really didn’t know anyone would notice it,” but is “glad it became a positive message.”
The model and actress, who has had a resurgence over the past few years following the release of her memoir Love, Pamela and the docuseries Pamela: A Love Story, added at the time that getting older isn’t really one of her concerns.
“I call if Life-ing, not aging,” she told PEOPLE. “Chasing youth is futile. All we can do is embrace who we are at the moment we are in, and be okay with where our feet stand right now.”
Another big factor that contributed to her decision to stop using makeup was the death of her longtime makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, who died from breast cancer in 2019. Speaking with Elle in August, Anderson shared that it motivated her to let go of her glam routine.
“She was the best,” she said of Vogel. “And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”
She said the decision to let go of glam has been “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.”
“Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing,” she added.
She added that she still has moments when she looks in the mirror and is surprised to see herself getting older.
“I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really…what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey,” she told the outlet. “But I feel rooted for. I feel good. I’m in a good place.”
Anderson’s son, Brandon Thomas Lee, 27, and his girlfriend, influencer Lily Easton, also made an appearance at the pre-Gala party, both looking sharp ahead of this year’s high fashion event, with a dress code of “The Garden of Time.”
Lee, who produced Pamela: A Love Story, sported a classic dark blue suit, white shirt and a black tie featuring a cross logo, along with pushed-back hair and a watch to complete the look. Easton bared all in a black sheer dress, pairing the look with a black bra and underwear, black purse, and a sleek, long hairstyle.
Last year, Lee, also the son of Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee, spoke last year with PEOPLE about producing his mom’s documentary, stating that he simply wanted to show the most the world the true version of Anderson.
“I basically wanted to bring to light the human that she is, the Pamela that nobody knew,” he told PEOPLE in August 2023. “People will come up to her and say things like, ‘I used to not like you, I used to think you did all this stuff for fame and personal gain, but I like you. You’re a real person.'”
Also at the cocktail hour were tons more A-listers, including event co-chairs Zendaya, 27, Jennifer Lopez, 54, Chris Hemsworth, 40, and Bad Bunny, 30.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 60, and his fiancée, former news anchor Lauren Sanchez, 54, also made an appearance. The former tech executive donned a black suit paired with a half-zip and white shirt underneath, and Sanchez wore a lace cocktail dress with a nude-toned slip underneath and lots of glimmering silver jewelry.
Doja Cat also made an appearance at the New York City party. Continuing her experimental fashion trend, 28, wore an open black leather dress that acted as a cape to show off her legs. Underneath, she paired the look with a black thong and towering high heels, and kept her recent short, blonde hairstyle.
