Ozzy Osbourne was spotted being pushed in a wheelchair as his wife Sharon walked behind him in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, on Tuesday afternoon. He looked weak as he was helped by two companions, with a blanket covering his knees to keep warm.
Even though he wore a face mask, a simple black T-shirt, and tracksuit bottoms, Ozzy was still recognizable with his tattooed arms, gold jewelry, and long black hair.
Osbourne star was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003.
The footage came out almost a year after the rocker said he wouldn’t perform in a wheelchair. He told Rolling Stone that he won’t go on stage while he’s feeling weak.
“I’m not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy,” he told the magazine. “What’s the point in that? I’m not going up there in a wheelchair. I’ve seen Phil Collins perform recently, and he’s got virtually the same problems as me. He gets up there in a wheelchair! But I couldn’t do that.”
The Black Sabbath frontman has been struggling to recover from back surgeries and is dealing with a rare form of Parkinson’s that has made him cancel scheduled gigs. Now with the interview and the recent pictures, it’s clear that any kind of return to the stage is unlikely.
