In a recent chat with Loudwire, Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Billy Morrison talked about their new podcast, ‘The Madhouse Chronicles,’ and picked their favorite rockers to create the ultimate supergroup. However, Osbourne’s pick didn’t include himself in the lineup.
When the rockers were asked about a supergroup they would think of forming, the former Black Sabbath singer named two members from Beatles. He said:
“John Lennon, singing. Jimi Hendrix playing guitar. Tommy Clufetos playing drums. Who can I have on bass? Paul McCartney on bass.”
Osbourne Wants McCartney To Record A Song
Throughout his career, Osbourne worked with many other rockers such as Lita Ford, Gary Moore, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, and Elton John. However, his collaborations never included any of the Beatles members.
In another interview, the rocker was also asked about a supergroup he would like to form. Once again, he named McCartney for his imaginary band but this time he said he would love to collaborate with him:
“I’d love to do something with John Lennon or [Jimi] Hendrix. I’d love to do something with Randy Rhoads again. I’d love Paul McCartney to play on one of my albums. He’s a great bass player.”
Although the two met each other and Osbourne even said it felt like meeting Jesus Christ, they never worked together. In fact, the Beatle once turned down a collaboration offer from Osbourne. The singer explained why:
“Meeting Paul McCartney was f*cking phenomenal. I was in the studio at the same time as him and tried to get him to play bass on one of my songs. But he said he couldn’t improve on the bassline that was there. I said, ‘Are you kidding? You could piss on the record and I’d make it my life.’”
