In early 2023, Ozzy Osbourne announced he could no longer tour because of his health condition. Despite his wife Sharon Osbourne mentioning two possible farewell shows in Birmingham, Osbourne hasn’t performed live since the announcement.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, questions about the singer’s possible return to live performances came up. He shared:
“I would love to, but I can’t stand up right. Maybe I’ll do something one day. I miss it terribly.”
When asked about performing a short set if he gets inducted into the Rock Hall, Osbourne added:
“Maybe. We’ll see.”
He Has Plans To Enter The Studio
Osbourne has remained musically active despite stepping back from live shows. In the last four years, he released two albums, ‘Ordinary Man’ in 2020 and ‘Patient Number 9’ in 2022, both produced by Andrew Watt.
He mentioned plans to make another record with Watt:
“I’m waiting for Andrew Watt to give me a call. He’s been working with Lady Gaga. I’m dying to make more music.”
The Black Sabbath frontman previously revealed that he wanted to make ‘one more album’ and possibly return to touring. But his health issues, including a bout with Covid-19 two years ago, has led to cancellation of some planned tours and shows.
The Rocker’s Health Problems And Canceled Shows
Osbourne’s health issues include a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease that came four years ago and spine injuries from a 2003 quad-bike accident.
The singer had to cancel a European tour with Judas Priest in 2023 after rescheduling it three times and step away from his performance at Power Trip festival due to complications.
Despite these challenges, Osbourne has managed a few performances in the last two years, including at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in August 2022 and an NFL halftime show in September 2022.
