Fans don’t find Ozzy Osbourne’s support for Jake E. Lee after the shooting sincere.
“How about paying and crediting him for ‘Bark At The Moon’…, etc? That would be very needed ‘support’ too..,” Eddie Trunk wrote in a tweet, reposting Ultimate Classic Rock’s news titled ‘Ozzy Osbourne Offers Support to Jake E. Lee Following Shooting.’
The commenters seemed to agree with Trunk as one person said, “‘Bark at the Moon’ sold collectively around 3.5 million copies, give him 0.25 per unit sold, that’s about 875,000.00 dollars, make it a cool million for retro back pay and emotional distress.”
“It’s amazing that Jake E. Lee and others walk around not getting paid for their work with the Ozzy camp. It’s criminal,” another individual added.
One other fan recalled Ozzy’s treatment towards Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake, “Sharon didn’t want to pay Kerslake and Daisley either. What is her problem with paying the rightful musicians on her husband’s albums?”
A few days ago, Lee was shot multiple times in Las Vegas. TMZ reported the shooting happened at 2:40 a.m. while he was walking his dog. He was shot three times—in the chest, arm, and foot.
The bullets missed major organs except for his lung, but he is doing well and is expected to fully recover. Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was random. The police are still investigating, so no more details are available. Lee and his family ask for privacy.
“It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today,” Osbourne told TMZ in a statement. “It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be OK.”
Lee joined Osbourne’s band after Randy Rhoads died. He played on two albums: 1983’s ‘Bark At The Moon’ and 1986’s ‘The Ultimate Sin.’ After leaving Ozzy’s band, Lee formed Badlands. He also released solo albums called ‘Retraced’ and ‘Guitar Warrior.’ After taking a break from music, he returned with Red Dragon Cartel.
