I’ve been shopping at Nordstrom for as long as I can remember.
The retailer not only holds a lot of nostalgia for me — my mom, sister and I still spend hours combing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale at our local mall — but it’s also the first place I turn to when I need a great outfit for work or an event. I wouldn’t have survived my wedding guest era without it! Now, dressing just got a whole lot easier thanks to Nordstrom’s new in-house offerings. (Nordy club members, unite!)
Nordstrom just redefined its namesake brand with a huge assortment of high-quality essentials that are on trend but won’t go out of style after a season. The mix of tailored classics and minimalist everyday pieces, including belted shirt dresses, cargo pants, button-up shirts, relaxed trousers and classic mules, are meant to be incorporated seamlessly into your existing wardrobe.
So that’s just what I did! Below, check out Nordstrom’s latest spring drop and some of my top picks, plus how I styled them.

Nordstrom Collection Suiting
Nothing makes me feel more put together and polished than a good suit. It’s an instant outfit that can just as easily be dressed up with a pair of heels as it can be dressed down with white sneakers. I love the slouchy fit of this jacked teamed with the flare pant. It feels relaxed and not too fussy.
I also love the way the “green duck” hue paired with Nordstrom’s white Pima cotton tee and Friss mules in ivory. It was the perfect look for a recent work dinner.
Cool Cargos
The last pair of cargo pants I owned was in 2004, and I wore them to every school dance with a rotation of my favorite baby tees. Fast forward 20 years, and the style is very much back (although I have retired my baby tees).
I love Nordstrom’s streamlined take on the trend. This pair has a small amount of stretch, but they don’t lose their shape after multiple wears. Plus, I love the shape of the pockets. I wore these with Nordstrom’s utility shirt and Birdie slide sandals and a brown belt.
I also tested them out with the ivory Friss mules and my new favorite Mother denim bomber jacket (a nod to my high school days), which is also available at Nordstrom.
Crisp Whites
There’s something about white-on-white looks that are effortlessly cool. I loved pairing this utility shirt with the new Nordstrom double pleat wide-leg pants, which are currently the most worn piece of clothing in my wardrobe.
The stretch-wove fabric is very comfortable, and the pants look extra polished thanks to the neat pleats in the front. The best part? They don’t wrinkle easily! As for the top, it’s one of those easy pieces that looks cute with just about any bottom.
The Essentials
A good white tee, a black belt, and heeled mule are three easy pieces that will constantly be in your outfit rotation once they’re in your closet. Nordstrom’s take on them are great quality at a very reasonable price point — I already have the tee in multiple colors.
