An Oasis reunion might seem like a no-brainer, but it’s up to the Gallagher brothers themselves. And apparently, it’s just a ‘one call away.’
In an interview with The Athletic, Noel Gallagher talked about Oasis fans and their connection to football. He explained:
“Oasis inspired that kind of feeling because of a lot of different things — the music, the attitude, that kind of thing — but predominantly because the people who came to see us saw themselves in us, and vice versa.”
He also chatted about the possibility of a reunion with his brother Liam Gallagher:
“[I can] make one phone call this afternoon and the world would come to an end. And it’s never going to go away.”
Noel’s Plans To Bring Oasis Back Without Liam
Earlier, Noel talked about catching an ABBA hologram gig and how he got inspired. He even mentioned doing something similar with ABBA and Oasis shows from the ’90s.
But that’s not all. He joked about teaming up with a hologram of his brother, Liam Gallagher, and joked that Liam ‘isn’t actually real.’
These comments followed Noel’s words in 2016 about the Oasis split. In an earlier interview, he shared his idea of performing concerts with holograms and even joked about starting rumors of his own holographic gigs without Liam:
“I did say that once, right, in the press, that I was gonna stage the concert with holograms, and I think Liam took it seriously. Liam is a hologram anyway. I don’t know if people know that, he’s not actually real. But yeah, of course I’d do it. If anything ever changes, trust me, he would be the first to let people know about it.”
How Liam Reacted To It
Liam however, wasn’t happy with his brother’s comments.
He took to X to address his brother’s plans for the band. When a user asked him what he thinks of the hologram shows Noel plans to do, Liam responded with just one word:
“Ridiculous.”
Ever since Liam announced the ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour, the rumors spread that Noel would join him on stage. Another user asked if the rumors were true, to which Liam responded:
“He’s asked for tickets.”
Still, there isn’t a clear answer as to whether a reunion would take place anytime soon.
