Nikki Sixx is certain Jake Paul can’t beat Mike Tyson.
“Mike Tyson is looking stronger and faster than I’ve ever seen him,” the bassist wrote in his tweet. “I can’t wait for this fight coming up on Netflix on November 15.”
“C’mon Nikki. Dude is almost 60. He shouldn’t be getting in the ring, even against a semi-pro like Jake Paul,” someone commented on the post.
Sixx replied by saying, “I see you know a lot of boxing and Mikes style verses an amateur. There will be blood.”
Originally set for July 20, the fight between Paul and Tyson was delayed due to Tyson’s health. He had an ulcer flare-up. Now, it’s set for November 15 at AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys’ home, and will stream on Netflix.
Tyson is tired of the focus on his age before his big fight with Paul. Tyson, 58, is 31 years older than Paul, but he insists he’s not like most people his age. “Other people my age haven’t been training as long as me, been as consistent as me, and I’m just a different species of human being,” he recently told FOX 4’s Mike Doocy.
Despite his health issue, Tyson believes he’s in shape, ready to fight, and has ‘bad intentions.’ He says he’s training the same way he always has. “[Training] is not much different. I just need more massages than normal,” Tyson shared.
Paul began hosting boxing matches in 2018 and has a 9-1 record. Tyson says Paul can fight, but he’s not at his level. Tyson also dared Paul to stay and trade punches, instead of running away.
Tyson noted, “I think he should try it. He’s a younger man, he should be able to handle punches from an old withering man like me.” Mike added, “My intention is to hurt this young man.”
This will be Tyson’s first fight since 2020, when he faced former boxing champ Roy Jones Jr., ending in a draw.
