The glitzy gold timepiece, which the actress wore to accept her AFI Life Achievement Award, is dripping in diamonds, naturally.
Nicole Kidman looked every bit a winner as she received the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award this past weekend.
The Australian actress, styled by Jason Bolden of JSN Studio, paired a custom gold Balenciaga gown with an equally glitzy one-of-a-kind Omega De Ville Mini Trésor for the ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The De Ville Trésor collection was introduced in 2014, though the word “trésor” was first used by Omega in 1949 to describe the “treasure” (or 30 mm caliber) inside its timepieces. In 2017, the Swiss watchmaker released a new line of ultra-slim ladies’ Trésors featuring oversized Roman numerals, curved diamond settings on the bezel, and reliable quartz movements. Omega then unveiled the Mini Trésor collection for women in 2022.
As its name suggests, the Mini Trésor has a miniature 26 mm case that is “perfect for those who like to go bold without going big,” according to Omega. Available in many materials and colors, the petite timepieces can also be coordinated with dresses, purses — or Balenciaga couture.
Omega created this particular Mini to help Kidman mark her most recent milestone. The Oscar-winning multihyphenate, who has been an Omega ambassador since 2005, received AFI’s Life Achievement Award for her contribution to enriching American culture through motion pictures and television. The Swiss watchmaker says the custom creation is worthy of Kidman’s style, grace, and extraordinary talent. The small but striking wrist candy elegantly complemented her show-stopping sequined gown, too.
The case, bezel, and mesh bracelet are all crafted from Omega’s signature 18-karat Moonshine Gold. Diamonds adorn not only the curves of the bezel but also the dial. In addition, there is also a single diamond set in a ceramic flower on the crown. To top it off, the dial is fitted with beautiful green gems that double as hour markers. Inside, the watch is powered by the Caliber 4061. The quartz movement provides 48 months of battery life. Kidman’s Mini is obviously not listed on the Omega website, but ladies can pick up a similar gold example (sans additional diamonds and emeralds) for $24,600.
Gents can also get a similar treasure: Omega offers a larger 36 mm example with 38 full-cut diamonds on the dial for $46,700. The gold timepiece comes A-lister approved, too: Irish actor Barry Keoghan wore the reference to the Governors Awards in January. The De Ville Trésor has been a regular fixture on the red carpet this year, in fact. Cillian Murphy, Charles Melton, and Jonathan Bailey have all been spotted wearing different iterations of the Trésor. Kidman is in good company, then.
