In a new interview with the Sunday Mirror newspaper, Nick Mason discussed how David Gilmour and Roger Waters might get back together.
The drummer believes a reunion seems unlikely due to ongoing feuds between Gilmour and Waters but AI could find a way:
“It would be fascinating to see what AI could do with new music. If you tried to run it as a sort of ‘Where did Pink Floyd go after?’ The thing to do would be to have an AI situation where David and Roger become friends again. We could be like ABBA by the time we’ve finished with it.”
Waters And Gilmour’s FaceTime Photo Surfaced
Earlier this month, a photo of Waters and Gilmour on a FaceTime call sparked rumors about a Pink Floyd reunion. Shared on Twitter by a fan page, the photo shows them looking happy and friendly. This led to speculation that they might be thinking about working together again, either on new music or a tour.
But neither party has confirmed these rumors officially. The two rockers have had a rocky relationship. Waters left the band in 1985 due to their disagreements, and they rarely appeared together since. This recent FaceTime photo surprised fans and raised hopes of a Pink Floyd reunion. However, they still publicly disagree.
The Recent Issues Between Gilmour And His Former Bandmate
Gilmour previously retweeted a tweet from the ‘Campaign Against Antisemitism’ about a documentary called ‘The Dark Side of Roger Waters.’ The documentary claims Waters is antisemitic. The tweet said:
“‘Dirty kyke,’ ‘Jew food,’ ‘F*cking Jew.’ Is Roger Waters antisemitic? Watch ‘The Dark Side of Roger Waters’ now and decide for yourself.”
Gilmour has criticized Waters for these views before. Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, also accused Waters of antisemitism and other negative traits. Gilmour supported her claims, saying they were true. Still, Waters dismissed the documentary as propaganda, claiming it misrepresents his views.
