In a new reaction video on YouTube, the members of a band called Dicodec shared their predictions on who could be the new Linkin Park singer.
They discussed the possibility of continuing the band with a female Japanese vocalist and started to think about some possible names. According to them, it is impossible to replace Chester Bennington. In this case, the band should consider changing its name.
They think there is a chance to go on with a Japanese singer because Mike Shinoda is also half-Japanese. So, he might have connections. The two musicians believe that Linkin Park would go with an established singer rather than a new name in the industry. One of their predictions was the Japanese singer Ado because she can speak English well.
Later, they also mentioned one of Shinoda’s previous interviews where he said he would want to continue with a new vocalist. But he would prefer someone who doesn’t sound like Bennington. One of the commenters also suggested the I Prevail singer Brian Burkheiser as a proper fit for Linkin Park.
In the rest of their chat, they also discussed other Japanese female singers, such as Lisa and Mayu Maeshima. Still, they are not sure about high notes. Following them, they suggested the Ukrainian singe Tatiana Shmayluk from the band Jinjer and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.
Is Linkin Park Back With A New Female Singer?
The starting point of their discussion was related to Orgy frontman Jay Gordon’s recent statements on Linkin Park’s plans to be back with a female singer. In a chat with an interview with KCAL 96.7’s RadioActive Mike Z., the singer revealed:
“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band. They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it. It’s going to be tough without Chester [Bennington], but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”
Gordon doesn’t know about the new singer’s identity:
“Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”
Shinoda said during a Twitch livestream in 2022 that he kept in touch with the band, but they’re not planning any tours or albums at the moment. He warned the fans against getting too excited.
