Netflix has no intention of turning its back on its current number-one series. Nobody Wants This, the new rom-com that has viewers head over heels, has been renewed for Season 2. The series follows the romantic journey of an unlikely couple: an outspoken agnostic, and a Jewish rabbi who defies convention. As it turns out, this love story isn’t done being told, and it’s something that Netflix certainly wants.
Nobody Wants This has officially been renewed for Season 2 at the streamer, with the news being delivered courtesy of Netflix. Season 2 has also hired a pair of new showrunners: Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who are no strangers to detailing complicated relationships due to their time on the HBO series Girls. In addition to being showrunners, Konner and Kaplan will also be on board as executive producers alongside Nora Silver, who is President of Jenni Konner Productions. Creator Erin Foster is also on board as an executive producer, in addition to Kristen Bell, who stars in the series, and Steve Levitan. More good news: work seems to have begun on Season 2 because the writers’ room has been active for a couple of weeks.
Perhaps seeing that Nobody Wants This was going to be a hit or because of the strong creative minds of Konner, Kaplan, and Silver, Netflix had deals in place for the trio before Nobody Wants This premiered on the streamer. The series premiered to strong reviews, registering an impressive 95 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes across its 10 episodes, with most critics citing the writing and the chemistry between Bell and Adam Brody as a true highlight. Foster had this to say about being able to continue the series’ story into Season 2:
“Creating

will forever be a career highlight for me. The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed. I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since

Fans love Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in Nobody Wants This, but this is not the duo’s first time together on screen.
Nobody Wants This follows the unconventional romance between Joanne (Bell), an agnostic sex and dating podcaster, and Noah Roklov (Brody), a rabbi she meets through her best friend, Ashley (Sherry Cola). The show has also activated the fanbases of both Bell and Brody, who have a reach that goes back to their fan-favorite beginnings in two youth-driven series. Bell became a household name playing the title character of Veronica Mars on the cult series which ran from 2003-2007, while Brody emerged around the same time on the popular teen dramedy The O.C., playing the nerdy Seth Cohen, also from 2003-2007.
