Yesterday, Mötley Crüe rocker Nikki Sixx took to X to share new details about the next album. His tweet read that the album combined country and hip-hop genres. This didn’t sit well with some fans and even some news sources.
The good news is that Mötley Crüe is not making a country or a hip-hop album. The bassist recently shared a screenshot of a news outlet that wrote about Sixx’s earlier tweet. In the caption, he clarified that they were not making a hip-hop album:
“Hahaha. Good ole media not crossing checking sarcasm.”
What Sixx Wrote Yesterday
Though there were already a few updates about the next album, Sixx’s recent update wasn’t a regular one. He wrote:
“New Crüe coming up right around the corner. People who have heard it say it’s a powerful cross between country and hip-hop.”
While some fans loved the idea, some thought it was an April fools joke. One user wrote:
“April Fools was the other day, Mr. Sixx!”
Another shared their appreciation:
“You’ve never made a bad album. The new album will be interesting, even if, as a surprise, it involves rapping in Japanese or yodeling in Bavarian.”
Mötley Crüe’s Album Plans
Earlier, John 5 revealed that the band wrapped up recording their new tracks towards the end of 2023. He talked about an original song titled ‘Dogs Of War’ and mentioned that they also covered the Beastie Boys’ ‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!).’
There’s no confirmed release date yet. The album will be their first studio record since 2008.
