In a recent Instagram post, Michael Sweet talked about the upcoming Stryper album.
The frontman announced the new Stryper song with the caption:
“We’re releasing a new song next Wednesday, 6/26. It’s called ‘End of Days.’ It’s the first single from our new album (coming in September). Even though I’ll get grief for saying this, it is our best album to date. And we’re not done. More to come. Wait till you hear this one. Who’s ready?”
What Did The Singer Say About The Album Before?
Sweet updated the fans about the new Stryper record in March, too. The good news was the album announcement but the bad news was that the singer was worried about his voice. He shared details about the album on Instagram, saying:
“An update on the new Stryper album. I’ve completed the lead vocals and now I’ll spend the next few days writing and arranging my guitar solos. Then we’ll begin final mixing and mastering will be completed by 4/20.”
Michael added:
“I must admit that I was a little nervous about my voice but in all sincerity, it seems fine to me. I didn’t have any trouble tracking vocals and if anything, it seemed a little easier this time around.”
Sweet also shared more good news, mentioning that this upcoming album is particularly special for him:
“I have to say that this album has a very special signature. It has a heaviness yet at the same time, a very melodic approach and a bit more of a ‘sing-along’ style when it comes to the choruses. I’m really pleased with the results and I truly believe it will be at the top of everyone’s ‘best of’ list. There are some stand out tracks to my ears already but I won’t go into details quite yet. Bottom line, a killer new Stryper album is coming! Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.”
Since releasing ‘The Final Battle’ in October 2022, Stryper has been busy recording new music. Previously, Sweet hinted on Instagram that their next album would feature a mix of new sounds and a return to their ‘pop metal’ roots. There is no information about the album title or release date yet.
