Bassist Michael Anthony sat down with SiriusXM for a new interview and revealed that there have been talks about releasing new music.
“There have really been a lot of talks between us but there are a lot of little pieces that we’ve been jamming together because we, as you probably saw, we play backstage every night before we go on so there are all kinds of ideas getting thrown around,” the rocker revealed during the chat. “So we’ll just kinda wait and see what happens when we finish this run of shows.”
The Red Rocker himself also talked about the possibility of new music in another interview.
“Yes. I guarantee it,” Hagar said. “I don’t know when and why because records don’t sell! I’ve made a couple of my best records of my life the last two solo records and they’re lucky to sell 50, 60 thousand [copies].”
“You go and make a record nowadays just to lose a couple hundred thousand bucks. It’s all good but, ya know, I need a tax write-off so it really helps. I go, ‘Look it. I made too many this year, let’s go make a record,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Best Of All Worlds tour is going strong, and Hagar is playing Van Halen songs he hasn’t touched in ages, like ‘Good Enough,’ ‘Judgment Day,’ ‘Summer Nights,’ ‘The Seventh Seal,’ and the title track from the band’s 1986 album ‘5150.’
