Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation gave $100,000 to support disaster relief efforts for those impacted by Hurricane Milton.
“In the wake of Hurricane Milton, our All Within My Hands Foundation is donating $50,000 EACH to the amazing folks at Feeding America and ITDRC to support their recovery efforts,” the band wrote on Instagram.
They continued, “Just days after Hurricane Helene ravaged Western Florida, Milton brought further damage to the region with 100+ MPH winds, three feet of rain, tornadoes, and storm surges up to six feet. It is a devastating catastrophe, with 23 lives lost and more unaccounted for.”
“More than 400,000 people are still without power as flood waters, downed power lines, and large debris have impeded ongoing rescue and recovery efforts. Hurricane Milton hit near Siesta Key, Florida, on Wednesday, October 9, as a Category 3 storm. Strong winds, tornadoes, and flooding hit the state, which was already damaged by Hurricane Helene just days before.
The storms have stressed food banks, and there’s an urgent need to repair technology and communication systems. All Within My Hands is donating $50,000 each to Feeding America and the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC).
Food banks and Feeding America have been busy providing emergency food, water, and supplies throughout Florida. They are still checking the damage caused by Hurricane Milton. Donating money is the best way to help the food banks.
The Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC) is a volunteer nonprofit that helps communities get back on their feet with technology and communication after disasters. Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation donates part of their ticket sales during the M72 world tour to local organizations that align with their mission.
