Metallica will extend their M72 World Tour into 2025 with 21 new dates across North America from April to June. This third leg will feature Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, Limp Bizkit, and Ice Nine Kills as opening acts.
The band announced the news Thrusday on Instagram by writing, “14 North American Cities. 18 Shows In The Round. 2 Festival Stops. 1 Unforgettable Tour. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 27. Fan Club Presales begin Monday, September 23.”
The tour will kick off on April 12 at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas. It will then move to Toronto for two nights, followed by performances at Nissan Stadium in Nashville and the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio.
Stadium shows are planned in several cities, including Philadelphia, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Tampa. The band will return to Tampa for the first time in 15 years. There will also be two hometown shows in the Bay Area in late June, with the tour ending in Denver on June 27 and 29.
The M72 tour began in Amsterdam in 2023 and has already drawn over three million fans. Metallica performed different setlists with different supporting acts for their two-night stops throughout the trek as part of their ‘No Repeat Weekend.’
The band still has four shows left in 2024 before the 2025 run. They will perform in Mexico City from September 20 to 29 to close out this year’s leg.
