Fans of Paul Bettany‘s Vision should gear up for an excruciatingly long wait, as Marvel’s Vision Quest starring the heroic android won’t hit Disney+ until 2026 — but in the meantime, Bettany is taking advantage of a recent interview to share a few crucial details about his upcoming series. The actor also offered his thoughts on the MCU’s most recent installment, Agatha All Along, which may hold some clues about what audiences can expect for the future of Vision.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of his latest project Here, Bettany revealed that Vision Quest will begin shooting sometime next year. He stated that “we’re cooking up something that I’m really excited about” but added jokingly that he couldn’t reveal more details because “snitches end up in ditches.” Marvel secrecy is no joke, after all. Vision Quest also plans to star James Spader in a reprisal of his role as Ultron — which may have something to do with the secrets that Bettany is holding back, as Ultron was supposedly destroyed by the Avengers in his debut film.

Paul Bettany Wants to Play Vision Forever
Paul has expressed his love for Vision and that he could play the Marvel character forever.
Vision has certainly been through a lot since his first appearance in the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron. Initially created by Ultron, Vision was a member of the Avengers until his death in Avengers: Infinity War at the hands of Thanos. The show WandaVision then saw Vision’s return via a potent mix of magic and heartache, but left viewers on a cliffhanger as a rebuilt white version of Vision flies away after regaining his memories. Presumably, this is where Bettany’s Vision Quest will pick back up, but it’s unclear what lies in store for the selfless synthetic humanoid, or how Ultron will fit back into the story.
Agatha All Along May Have Close Ties to Vision Quest
Since both shows are considered spin-offs of WandaVision, it’s safe to assume that Agatha All Along and the upcoming Vision Quest will have some narrative crossovers — but there may be additional bridges between the two different stories. Agatha All Along producer Mary Livanos recently revealed her involvement in Vision Quest, stating that she was excited about joining the project. In turn, Bettany also mentioned his fondness for Agatha All Along, confessing that he plans to watch the show for a second time in order to prepare for Vision Quest.
If Bettany has to take notes from Agatha All Along before working on Vision Quest, the shows will probably be connected in more ways than one. For example, Agatha All Along has teased the possibility of Wanda Maximoff’s resurrection, which has the potential to impact Vision Quest in a big way given the intense emotional connection that once existed between Wanda and Vision. However, the final two episodes of Agatha All Along may also decide to leave Wanda’s fate ambiguous in order to build suspense for the release of Vision Quest.
