Marty Friedman joined an interview with Chaosize and discussed the possibility of rejoining Megadeth. Friedman confirmed he didn’t receive any offers from Dave Mustaine, which he thought was an unrealistic plan. The guitarist explained:
“No, and I don’t think that’s realistic. I don’t know anything about it. I don’t think Dave would think that I would be a candidate to join the band or rejoin the band, and it’s certainly not something that I thought of. I think they’re absolutely doing just fine the way they are.”
Friedman joined Megadeth in two of their shows in Tokyo, Japan, last year. His brief stint with the band sparked rumors about him rejoining the band. But, his latest statement put an end to those rumors.
Friedman Wishes The Best For Teemu Mäntysaari
After Kiko Loureiro left the band, Megadeth announced Mäntysaari as their new guitarist. Although fans wished to see Marty coming back to Megadeth, he expressed no interest in taking part in the band again.
In another part of the interview, Friedman talked about his opinions on Teemu as a guitarist. He said:
“I met him for a moment at Wacken. [He] seemed like a very cool guy, and I wish him nothing but the best. He’s gonna have a good time with those guys.”
This was not the first time Friedman spoke highly of Teemu. Previously, he congratulated Mäntysaari for joining Megadeth and doing a great job.
