Marilyn Manson’s former assistant has been assigned a trial date for her lawsuit against the singer.
Ashley Walters’ abuse claim lawsuit was dismissed in May 2022 but reinstated in December after an appeal. She will go to a jury trial against Manson on June 2, 2025. A judge in Los Angeles County scheduled the trial after Walters and Manson couldn’t settle the case during mediation in December, as confirmed by Walters’ lawyer, James Vagnini. In a statement, Vagnini told Rolling Stone:
“We are happy that the delays are behind us and that we will have an opportunity to depose Mr Warner and present all the facts to a jury next year. We are confident they will acknowledge the harm done to Ms Walters and deliver a resounding message to all survivors of such terrible abuse.”
What Are Walters’ Claims Against The Rocker?
Walters accuses Manson of abusing her while she worked as his personal assistant from 2010 to 2011. She claims he bit her ear, forced her hand into his underwear, whipped her, threw dishes at her, pushed her into a wall, broke down doors, charged at her, and made her stand on a chair for 12 hours.
Manson’s legal team got the case dismissed in 2022 by using the statute of limitations. It expired two years after the alleged crimes. However, a tribunal at California’s Second Appellate District revived the lawsuit in December.
In February, Manson got community service for blowing his nose on a videographer at a 2019 concert in New Hampshire. He recently finished his service at a nonprofit in California. Manson submitted his completion certificate to a New Hampshire court before the deadline.
Last month, the singer announced his first tour since 2019. He will team up with Five Finger Death Punch and Slaughter To Prevail for a summer 2024 tour. The tour announcement caused criticism due to abuse allegations against Manson. In response, FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory mentioned in an interview that Manson hasn’t been on the road for a while and many people want to see him perform.
