Damiano David of Måneskin is starting his solo music career with his new single, ‘Silverlines.’
Labrinth produced ‘Silverlines and it will come out on September 27. According to a press release, Damiano’s new project away from Måneskin was ‘born from the need to express a more personal and vulnerable part of himself, a part of him that remains completely unexplored’ in the band.
“I travelled all around the world to find my voice, just to end up where everything started. Today is the first day of my life,” the singer shared in a video teaser.
The singer had posted a mysterious teaser online earlier this month. Later, at the 2024 MTV VMAs, he talked about going solo and explained, “I’ve been working for a long, long time on a new project. And September 27 is the date of release so I would love everyone to stay tuned.”
In an interview with The Allison Hagendorf Show last year, David said he was open to a solo project. He said, “And I actually wish that one day we all do like a solo project one year and then we come back together with new ideas, new stimulation.”
The rocker continued, “I think art should be always trying new things and never, never stopping in your comfort zone. When something gets too comfortable, it’s not the right chair. You always have to challenge yourself. So being alone scares me. Let’s be alone.”
“Let’s put myself in that uncomfortable situation because it’s the only environment where I can actually grow,” Damiano further shared. “And if I grow, my band can grow. If I stop developing, my band is gonna stop developing.”
He added, “I think it could be a very healthy thing and a very destructive thing. The only thing that matters, it’s how you agree with the band, because the band, it’s always gonna be what gave me everything I have. And if I ever have the chance to do a solo project, I have to keep in my mind that it’s thanks to everything I did with the band.”
His bandmate, Victoria De Angelis also recently announced her solo project and first single, ‘Get Up B*tch (Shake Ya A**),’ featuring Anitta.
