Lzzy Hale and Maynard James Keenan are in a competition for the best frontperson title.
The Halestorm singer shared Loudwire’s voting and wrote on Instagram, “Ya’ll can fight over us if ya want! It’s On Keenan! Glad to be on such a short list! Thank you Loudwire. You can vote via loudwire.com or Link in my STORY. The crazy thing is that Tool was the first concert I bought tix to. I was 17. I’m honored to now call him a peer.”
As Loudwire shared, Hale was named the best frontwoman after winning against Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless. Along with Halestorm’s five albums, Hale has collaborated with artists like Stone Sour, I Prevail, and Evanescence.
Keenan made it here after defeating Corey Taylor in the best 21st Century Frontman vote two weeks ago. Over the past 23 years, he has worked with Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer.
Chuck Armstrong will kick off the battle at 8 PM on Monday during Loudwire Nights. He will also discuss Hale and Keenan on Tuesday and Wednesday. You can rank their work in the 21st century using the form in Loudwire all week. The one with the most votes will get a special spot on Friday’s show at 8 PM.
Back in 2011, Rolling Stone also asked their readers to vote for the best lead singer of all time. Robert Plant took the first place, while Freddie Mercury came second. Other names included Bono, Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison, Roger Daltrey, Eddie Vedder, John Lennon, Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain.
