Matt Damon’s wife swapped her glam gown for a fun, popstar-inspired look
and his wife enjoyed a glam night out for the 2024 Met Gala, but their looks didn’t stop at the red carpet.
The couple, who share three children together, appeared at the May 6 -themed event in coordinating style. As a nod to the “Garden of Time” dress code, Luciana, 47, wore a strapless white floor-length gown with gathered detail around the bust. She accessorized with a matching clutch and silver jewels along with Jennifer Behr bobby pins.
Matt opted for a classic black Dior Men tux with a white button-down and black bow tie and accessorized with a Piaget watch. While walking out of the Mark Hotel, he joked to PEOPLE exclusively that it took him “about five minutes” to get ready.
“We’ve been in the room all day,” he added. “It’s a production.”
Damon, 53, also said he was looking forward to catching up with friends at the event.
“I have a lot of friends there, so I’ll catch up with a lot of people,” he told PEOPLE.

Following the gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the couple headed back to the Carlyle hotel to switch outfits for the afterparty.
As is tradition, they opted for something more casual and fun for the late night festivities. Damon wore his same tux but swapped his white shirt and black bowtie for a black t-shirt for a laid back vibe. Luciana, on the other hand, looked straight out of the ‘90s in a cropped white tank top and black mesh skirt.
She carried a white clutch purse and accessorized with white sneakers, a chain necklace and bangle bracelets. The casual-yet-glam look was reminiscent of ‘90s and early 2000s pop stars like (the singer’s iconic white-on-white outfit at the 2000 MTV VMAs comes to mind).
The Damons last attended the Met Gala in 2017 when the theme was “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between.” They kept their looks simple and timeless in Versace. The event also marked the couple’s debut at the Met Gala.
“We’ve never done this before,” Matt told on the 2017 carpet . “She’s wearing Versace. I took about five minutes. She was pretty quick too.”
