Linkin Park dropped the new song ‘Heavy Is The Crown,’ and fans think it resembles the band’s past records.
“I’m really impressed by how this sounds Linkin Park in every way,” a fan wrote in the comment section of the music video. “It’s almost a mist of ‘Meteora’ / ‘Living Things’ / ‘THP.’”
Another fan said, “Mike with his dope rap lyrics and Emily accompanying him with her powerful vocals this sounds exactly like the signature Linkin Park from ‘Meteora’/’Hybrid Theory’ era phenomenal vibes!”
“That scream was about 15 seconds long, Emily’s amazing! Also the ‘It keeps bleeding out,’ lyric referencing ‘Bleed It Out’ is not lost on me,” one other commenter wrote. “This song has a mix of ‘Meteora’ and ‘Minutes To Midnight’ vibes, and I can’t get enough of it. You guys are awesome, keep up the immaculate music.”
The band made a big return this month by introducing Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara as their new co-singer. They released a new song called ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ shared tour dates, and announced their first album since 2017, ‘From Zero.’
Mike Shinoda said in an interview with Q101 that the band kept the name Linkin Park because their new music still sounded like Linkin Park. He explained, “And then as the music came into focus, we were, like, ‘This is as Linkin Park an album as we could make. It’s so Linkin Park that if we call it something else, then we are idiots.’”
The rocker also added the following about their upcoming album, “Because it would be like misrepresentation. It’d be silly. And when people hear more of the album, they will understand that.”
The group started its arena tour in Los Angeles two weeks ago and added three new dates in November for the ‘From Zero’ tour in Paris, Dallas, and São Paulo. Fan club presales begin on September 25, and general sales start on September 27.
