Linkin Park has just announced that they will be adding over 50 dates to their ‘From Zero World Tour’ in the upcoming year. The announcement came just after their newest release, ‘From Zero.’
Mike Shinoda shared a throwback post on social media about the band’s pre-Chester version, Xero. The rocker mentioned Xero’s first show back on November 14, 1997, the same date they announced the world tour dates.
“November 14, 1997: Our first show as ‘Xero.’ November 14, 2024: Our ‘From Zero’ world tour dates are released,” Shinoda wrote in the caption of his post.
Before releasing the album, Linkin Park released one last song named ‘Two Faced.’ While many fans resembled the song to the ‘Hybrid Theory’ era, some mentioned that it was more similar to the Xero era. This caused a fan to start a discussion on Reddit.
They wrote, “Is it just me or Emily’s screamo part sounds kinda similar to Mark Wakefield’s style? I feel like the production of her vocal in that part is intentionally made to sound like it was recorded into a cassette instead of the polished production style of ‘Heavy is the Crown.’”
Another user responded to the question, “I do kinda hear it now that you mention it. Not a crazy theory given the title of the album and what Mike has said about it. I really like some of those early tracks. Pictureboard is great, and I prefer the version with Mark over the later, more polished version with Chester.”
“Also the part where she is whispering ‘I can’t hear myself think’ is so similar to the Figure.09 2002 Demo,” another added.
Linkin Park previously performed several shows worldwide after announcing Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, and releasing the singles ‘The Emptiness Machine’ and ‘Heavy Is the Crown.’
The next part of the tour will include guests such as Queens of the Stone Age, Architects, AFI, Spiritbox, Grandson, Jean Dawson, and Pvris on select dates. The band will perform in stadiums and arenas across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The tour starts on January 31 at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros and will end on November 15 in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
