Oasis’ Liam Gallagher received a blue plaque from a supermarket.
Earlier, the rocker suggested an alternative to Manchester’s Co-op Arena, which had faced challenges before opening. As a result, the supermarket decided to celebrate this with a plaque on its wall.
What Did Gallagher Say?
At first, Gallagher joked about playing at Lidl if his Co-op Live arena shows ‘weren’t sorted in time.’
Now, a Lidl in Newton Heath has honored him with the plaque on its wall and even called it their ‘very own Wonderwall.’
At that time, the Manchester venue was facing complications and delays as it tried to open its doors. This caused the Gallagher to make the joke on social media.
Co-op Live eventually sorted out its early problems, and Gallagher is set to perform there later this month.
How’s The Tour Going?
Gallagher is currently on his 30th-anniversary tour of the UK and Ireland celebrating ‘Definitely Maybe.’ At a recent show at London’s The O2, he dedicated ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ to Dave Grohl. The Foo Fighters frontman joined the show too.
During the tour, Gallagher is performing ‘Definitely Maybe’ in its entirety and several other tracks from that era. He dedicated ‘Half The World Away’, originally sung by Noel, to his brother and former bandmate.
Additionally, he’s airing demos from Noel’s Oasis days, such as ‘Lock All The Doors.’
