The upcoming heist film, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, has now found its cast. The film is all set to be led by Taken star Liam Neeson, who is now set to work with a young ensemble in what is being described as a “dark heist comedy.” As reported by Deadline, Academy Award-nominated actor Liam Neeson will star and lead the film’s cast, which will be made up of esteemed young actors Talia Ryder, Noah Jupe, Whitney Peak, and Jack Dylan Grazer are tied to the film as well. 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank will also introduce newcomer Deacon Phillippe, son of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. The film is set to be directed by SMILF director, Frankie Shaw.
Based on the comic book of the same name written by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss, the film’s premise follows ex-bank robber Danny (Neeson) and his teenage granddaughter Paige (Ryder), who maintain a close relationship. Paige overhears that Danny’s former gang wants to rope him into one more job to settle a debt, so she comes up with what, to her, at least, seems like the only logical solution: she will team up with her three ride-or-die best friends to rob the bank the day before its planned so he doesn’t have to.
The comic has been adapted for the screen by Matt Robinson, who previously co-wrote Dora and The Lost City of Gold, Love and Monsters, and the upcoming Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. The film was developed and co-financed by Erik Feig’s Picturestart, who will also produce alongside Point Gray Pictures, Jessica Switch overseeing and Black Mask Studios, with Matt Pizzolo overseeing. FilmNation is launching international sales of the film ahead of next week’s Toronto International Film Festival.
