Liam Gallagher and Robbie Williams feud seems to be back.
It started again when Williams recently responded to a question about whether or not his upcoming tour was planned to compete with Oasis. “Did I plan the tour to compete with Oasis? No, I didn’t,” he clarified. “When Oasis get back together, there is no competing, really. Unless I’d taken a 20-year break, then it would be a fair fight,” he added.
“Oasis coming back together, I don’t think anybody could compete with that including Taylor Swift, who’s the biggest artist on the planet. So no, it’s not a competition even though it bloody is,” the singer ended his statement.
Liam saw the footage posted by a fan page on X. “Robbie said he wanna compete with Oasis tour what u think?,” the user wrote with the video. Liam responded, “He’s a BULLY and I’m scared.”
Their feud started back in July 1995, when Robbie Williams left Take That to start a solo career. A year later, he was seen partying with Oasis members at the Glastonbury Festival. While Robbie was friends with Liam, Noel Gallagher started a feud by calling Williams ‘the fat dancer from Take That.’
In 2000, Williams also challenged Liam Gallagher to a televised boxing match, offering a £100,000 bet.
Two years ago, Williams accused the former Oasis members of being ‘massive bullies’ at the time. He said the brothers were ‘gigantic bullies to the whole industry,’ and that he didn’t like them for it. After this comment, an X follower asked Liam Gallagher for his thoughts about it. “I agree with him on the vital thing, not on the bully thing. I’ve never bullied anyone in my life,” he replied.
Even after the disagreement, Liam still offered an apology to Williams in case anything he had done in the past had caused harm. “I’m a massive piss taker for sure and probably gone a little too far sometimes, but if I’ve ever hurt anyone’s feelings, I apologize.”
Later, Williams revealed that he is a big fan of Oasis and Liam Gallagher’s solo work. He praised Liam’s solo album, ‘C’mon You Know,’ and shared how glad he was that a musician like Gallagher existed in the scene.
Williams’ upcoming tour starts at Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi on December 28 and wraps up at the Olympiastadion, Helsinki, Finland on September 20.
