After the rumors of a new face in Oasis, Liam Gallagher hinted at a lineup change.
The rocker took to X to respond to fan questions. When a user asked, “Will there be new members in Oasis?,” Liam responded with, “Good question there could be a few new faces just to freshen things up.”
Another user asked, “Are you being replaced?”
“Don’t be silly I AM OASIS,” Liam added.
Another user then speculated that it was Noel’s decision to bring a new face to the band. The rocker approved with, “He’s the BOSS.”
Although there aren’t many details about who the new member might be, reports say Noel and Liam will be joined by bassist Andy Bell and guitarists Paul Arthurs and Gem Archer.
“Noel and Liam are slowly putting Oasis back together and they’re hoping to get Zak on board for drums. Andy has confirmed he is free for the tour now, with Bonehead and Gem both signed up, too,” an insider told The Sun two weeks ago.
They also added that they were planning to get Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey: “Alan White, who was the drummer with Oasis until 2004, isn’t returning. Zak was probably the best live drummer Oasis ever had and to get him back on board would be amazing.”
Starkey joined the band in 2004 and played until 2008. Original drummer Tony McCarroll left in 1995, and Alan White took over until 2004. Chris Sharrock played with the band until they broke up in 2009.
Another member, Arthurs, was an original Oasis member and has stayed friends with both Noel and Liam. He left Oasis in 1999 while they were working on their fourth album, ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants,’ to spend more time with his family. Since then, he has performed with Liam Gallagher.
