Lenny Kravitz wants to stay single until he finds the right partner.
In a new conversation with the Guardian, the interviewer reminded Kravitz of his previous statement where he said he hadn’t been in a serious relationship for nine years. When asked if he was serious about wanting to stay single, the singer responded by saying:
“Yes. It’s a spiritual thing.”
Kravitz wants to be in a relationship now, but he thinks it might be tough:
“I have become very set in my ways, in the way I live.”
Lenny’s Previous Statements About Romantic Relationships
Back in 2008, the rocker talked to Maxim about why he chose to be celibate:
“[It’s] just a promise I made until I get married. Where I’m at in life, the women have got to come with something else, not just the body, but the mind and spirit. It usually trips them out, but that’s the way it’s going to be. I’m looking at the big picture.”
Kravitz talked about it again in a July 2011 interview with Details, saying his words might have been misunderstood:
“Sorry, man, I’m not going to deal with that question. I said it, and it just got blown way out of proportion.”
During a recent interview on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, the host asked Lenny about his love life. She asked if he had a significant other. Kravitz replied that he’s currently open to possibilities:
“It’s hard not to look. You know when you desire something you’re looking for it, right? But I find that when you don’t look is when you find it. And I’m at a place where I’ve said this for several years, ‘I’m ready. I’m ready. I’m ready.’ I wasn’t ready. I thought I was ready, right? But I can say that I’ve never felt how I feel now.”
Kravitz was married to Lisa Bonet from November 1987 to 1993, and they had a daughter named Zoë in 1988. After their divorce, he was reportedly in relationships with Vanessa Paradis, Adriana Lima, and Nicole Kidman.
