One of the biggest disappointments of The CW’s cancelation of the Arrowverse was the number of storylines that never came to fruition on some of the DC franchise’s most popular shows. This included Legends of Tomorrow, which came to an end in 2022 after seven seasons. Now the show’s star Caity Lotz has revealed some details of what was to come for her character, Sara Lance aka White Canary, and her hopes that the story could still be concluded at some point.
During a recent interview with Screen Rant to promote her new movie, The Lockdown, Lotz was asked what Season 8 of Legends of Tomorrow had in store. She explained:
“Yeah, it definitely was a cliffhanger. I mean, after 140 or however many episodes, I did definitely get to explore a lot of stuff with her. But the way that they wrote the show, it was so much fun. There was always room for more because it was so bonkers, and you just do crazy stuff.
But I know we were going to be in prison, so the next season would’ve started off with us in prison. And I know the pregnancy wasn’t going to be a normal pregnancy, which is what I was looking forward to. It wasn’t going to just be basically what I am now – because now I’m eight and a half months pregnant, waddling around. They were going to make it a unique alien clone hybrid pregnancy, and the baby would’ve been something unexpected. Maybe one day we’ll get that Legends movie!”
Could Legends of Tomorrow Get a Movie Conclusion?
At the time of its cancelation, fans were distraught at the loss of Legends of Tomorrow for a number of reasons. As one of the first Arrowverse shows to be scrapped, the first of many as it later turned out, no one had really expected one of The CW’s longstanding shows to be abruptly brought to an end. Additionally, the series not only ended on a cliffhanger, but the Season 7 finale had also just introduced Donald Faison to the cast, in the role of Michael Jon Carter aka Booster Gold.
The cancelation led to the usual online outcry, as well as a huge petition for the show to be given a real conclusion on another platform such as Netflix. However, the campaigning led to nothing, and as the rest of the Arrowverse crumbled around it, Legends of Tomorrow took its place among the fallen.

While it seems like that should be the end of the story, it is clear that Lotz has hopes that one day a movie version of the series will make it into production to conclude the story. With so many franchises being canceled and resurrected, it is hard to tell whether there is still a chance for Legends of Tomorrow to become one of those that can escape its early grave just one more time, or whether the time-traveling series is lost in the past for good.
Booster Gold is one of the characters that will be making his debut in the new DCU continuity in the coming years, which is most likely another reason why it is unlikely the

will be returning anytime in the future.
