Roach has been working with Zendaya for more than a decade — but he tells PEOPLE that there’s one major thing on his to-do list with her
Law Roach and s styling partnership has been quite a beautiful one.
If you look at any one of the red carpet outfits the actress has worn as of late, you’ll see they tell a story — and they’re gorgeous and fit her style and personality to a tee.
That’s because this duo has been working together for more than a decade, and they collaborate (and support each other) seamlessly. Roach has , including this year where she played the role of co-chair, he’s seen her through and he’s dressed her for scores of red carpets.
Roach has pulled beautiful pieces for Zendaya to wear and has proudly walked many of those carpets with her as not just her stylist (and self-proclaimed image architect), but also as her friend. Even though he in March 2023, he continues working with the Challengers actress, as well as a select few others. And though he’ll continue to challenge himself to up his game with each new outfit with Zendaya, he tells PEOPLE that he has one big bucket list goal on his to-do list with her.

“So in the early 2000s, there was a promoter. He used to work in cool clubs, and his name was Andre J,” Roach tells PEOPLE exclusively while discussing his . “He was someone who I looked up to for his style.”
Roach went on to describe a cover that Andre J starred on in 2007 with model Carolyn Murphy that he has always admired.
“It really, really inspired me, so I’ve always — especially since I started being on covers of magazines myself — I’m like, ‘How cool with it be for Zendaya and I to recreate that cover?'” he says. “So I’ve been manifesting that, and that’s been on my vision board and my wish list.”

When Roach made the announcement last year that he was retiring from styling, he explained that his decision wasn’t about fashion itself but the politics of the business. “If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics , the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out,” he said at the time.
He tells PEOPLE now that he felt like he had been “in service to people in a very particular way for a really long time.” In this new place in life, it’s been much different for Roach, he says. Now, he says he feels like he’s “of service to masses of people” in a way that pleases him, because he’s doing things like writing a book (, which was released last month), partnering with brands he loves for collabs (like his latest with Pepsi Wild Cherry) and working with School of Style (an online school to empower the next generation of stylists).
“I am the happiest I think I may have ever been in my entire life.”
